Scooter’s Pals was founded on the belief that as caring, responsible humans, we must take action to lower the painful number of animals destroyed each year by human neglect and apathy.

 

We are a last-chance dog rescue organization. Our mission is to save and aid dogs that have been abandoned and often abused or neglected. We save them from needless death in a shelter. We provide vet care and rehabilitation if needed. We find them safe and loving homes. We give them another chance at life.

 

Scooter’s Pals is a completely volunteer organization — we pay no salaries, no expense accounts, no perks or frills. We depend on dedicated, caring volunteers to perform every aspect of our life-saving work.

We are based in Nevada County in northern California. Our office is located in Grass Valley, and our rescue, fostering, and adoption services are provided by our wonderful cadre of "pals" in both the Nevada County and greater Sacramento areas.

We need your help! There are many ways you can join in our effort. You could foster one of our rescued animals. You could help us transport our dogs. You could assist at our monthly dog adoptathons or fundraisers or other local events. And we always need people to perform the myriad behind-the-scenes tasks that are so vital, that keep our organization going.
